Leaving Morgen

It is hard to imagine being heartbroken about leaving a dog for an extended period if you have never had a dog before. Even leading up to the goodbye, I was pretty ok with it. Maybe even a little excited to (shhhh). But when it came to saying goodbye for 4 months, we were all in tears. Except Morgen, because she had Grandparents to spoil and dote on her. We, however, did not have the ability to tell Morgen that we would be back for her and we weren’t abandoning her. It was harder than leaving the kids for the first time because of that.

But, alas, we distracted ourselves enough to not cry ugly tears at BOI and headed down to the Sunshine State.

Goodbye Morgen, see you in July!
